What Is GameForge Guild?

Creative coding clubs for young game makers.

GameForge Guild is a small-group coding club for ages 9–12. No coding experience is needed.

Students learn by building playable games, then testing them, improving them, and sharing what they’ve made.

It is not passive screen time.
It is problem-solving, creativity, logic, and confidence built through making something real.

Along the way, students build skills that matter beyond games: clear thinking, patience, problem-solving, and the confidence to try, test, and improve.

They do not just learn bits of code.
They start to understand how games work, how systems respond, and how an idea becomes something you can play.

🎮 What Students Will Learn
  • Programming basics: variables, logic, loops, methods
  • How games use movement and coordinates
  • Keyboard input and player interaction
  • Simple object-based coding
  • Adding score and feedback systems
  • Building and presenting their own playable game
🎤 Parent Showcase – Week 6
At the end of the programme, parents are invited to a short showcase where students demonstrate the games they've built. Each student receives a GameForge Guild Level 1 Completion Certificate.

What Parents Say

From Luke's teaching record with young learners.

"We've seen a massive change in our son's confidence since he started training with Luke. He used to hold back in group settings, but now he's much more willing to step forward and get involved. Luke has a real knack for bringing kids out of their shells, and we can genuinely see the difference in his self-esteem."

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for parents and guardians.

Does my child need a laptop?
A laptop (Windows or Mac) is recommended so work can continue at home. If your child doesn't have one, let us know on the application — we can discuss options and a spare device may be available where possible.
Does my child need prior coding experience?
No experience is needed. Level 1 is designed for complete beginners. Students who have used Scratch or Roblox Studio will pick things up faster, but no prior knowledge is assumed.
Is the instructor DBS checked?
Yes. Luke holds a current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. Public Liability Insurance is also in place for all sessions, and a clear safeguarding policy is maintained at all times.
Is the summer programme free?
Yes. The summer holidays programme is free and runs across 6 sessions. Future term-time cohort details are confirmed before booking, and applying simply registers interest so we can match families to the right group.
