Before Work Starts

What is confirmed before a project begins.

Clear details first, then the build.

Before a paid website project or care package is confirmed, Gnosis Interactive will confirm the practical details in writing. This may be by email, quote, invoice, or another written project message.

The confirmed details should include the service being provided, the agreed scope, price, payment timing, any ongoing billing period, expected start point, what the client needs to provide, and any cancellation information that applies.

Gnosis Interactive is operated by Lucidus Enterprises (sole trader), UK. The trading/contact details needed for a confirmed contract, including the business contact email and any invoice details, will be provided before payment is requested or work is agreed. VAT will only be charged if it is stated on the relevant quote or invoice.

Service Terms

Website build terms.

The service is simple: you send the basics, we shape them into a working website.

Website packages cover the agreed website build described on the services page or in a written quote. The client provides the business information, logo, images, service details, contact details, social links, and any examples or requirements needed for the project.

Gnosis Interactive structures the content, designs and builds the agreed pages, helps with setup, tests the site, and supports launch. The service is not a DIY website builder account; it is a done-for-you website build based on the agreed brief and materials.

Larger changes, extra pages, redesigns, online shops, advanced booking systems, subscriptions, stock systems, custom checkout, regulated-sector requirements, or complex integrations are quoted separately unless they are clearly included in writing.

Timings depend on the scope of the work, client feedback, and how quickly materials are provided. A project is not treated as confirmed until the agreed scope, price, payment terms, and start point are confirmed in writing.

Client Materials

Content, permissions, and accuracy.

01

Materials you send

You are responsible for making sure any text, images, logos, names, claims, prices, and links you provide are accurate and that you have the right to use them.

02

Business details

You should check all contact details, opening times, service information, prices, legal notices, and customer-facing claims before launch.

03

Approval

Once you approve the website for launch, it is your responsibility to request changes if anything later becomes outdated, incorrect, or legally sensitive.

Ownership

Website files, content, and licences.

The client keeps ownership of their own business name, logo, supplied text, supplied images, brand materials, and domain. The client must have permission to use any materials they send for the website.

Once the agreed website build has been paid for, the client receives the right to use the finished website for their own business or project. Gnosis Interactive may retain ownership of reusable methods, templates, code patterns, processes, and non-client-specific tools used to create the website.

Third-party fonts, images, plugins, providers, libraries, platforms, and tools may be subject to their own licences and terms. If a project needs a paid third-party asset, plugin, provider, or subscription, this will be discussed before it is added.

Domain & Hosting

Clear setup. Client-owned domain. Hosting included with care. No lock-in confusion.

Domain registration is paid by the client and is usually renewed yearly. Gnosis Interactive can help purchase and set up a domain on the client's behalf, but the domain remains the client's.

Hosting is included with the Website Care package while that package is active. If Website Care is active, the client does not pay Gnosis Interactive an extra hosting fee on top of the monthly care price.

If the client does not choose Website Care, Gnosis Interactive can still build the website and hand it over, but ongoing hosting, domain management, updates, backups, technical checks, and website admin are the client's responsibility.

Website Care

Ongoing care terms.

Included with care

  • Website hosting while the care package is active
  • Website upload and connection support
  • Minor text or image updates
  • Basic checks and light admin
  • Up to 2 hours of update/admin time per month

Not included as standard

  • Domain registration fees
  • Major redesigns or rebuilds
  • New pages beyond the agreed scope
  • Full online shops or custom checkout systems
  • Advanced integrations, stock systems, or subscriptions

Ending care

If Website Care ends, hosting and ongoing admin through Gnosis Interactive also end unless a separate agreement is made. Any minimum term, renewal date, or cancellation period will be confirmed before the care package begins.

The client can request reasonable handover information so the site can be moved or managed elsewhere. Domain ownership remains with the client.

Any unpaid charges, provider terms, or handover limits will be handled according to the agreed project terms and the relevant third-party provider rules.

Cancellations

Cancellations, refunds, and consumer rights.

Before work begins

Where a client has a legal cancellation right, cancellation information will be provided before the agreement is confirmed. If work has not started, refunds are handled according to the agreed terms and the client's statutory rights.

After work has started

If the client asks for work to begin during a cancellation period, reasonable charges may apply for work already completed, where permitted by law and explained in the agreed terms. If a service has been fully completed with the client's agreement during a cancellation period, cancellation rights may be affected where UK law allows.

Digital work and downloads

A finished website, website files, digital setup, and related materials may count as digital or service work depending on the project. Any immediate start, delivery, or access terms will be confirmed in writing where required.

Business clients

Many website service clients are businesses or organisations. Business-to-business work may be handled under the written quote, invoice, or service agreement rather than consumer cancellation rules.

Statutory rights

Nothing on this page is intended to remove legal rights that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Privacy & Cookies

How enquiry data is used.

Information sent through the website request form or by email is used to respond to the enquiry, prepare a quote, manage project communication, deliver the agreed service, and keep necessary business records.

Typical enquiry data may include name, email address, business or project name, current website or social links, package interest, and message details. Data is not sold. Data may be handled through normal business tools such as email, hosting, domain, analytics, cloud storage, accounting, or form services where needed to run the service.

The usual lawful bases for handling enquiry and client data are taking steps before entering a contract, performing an agreed contract, meeting legal record-keeping duties, and legitimate interests in managing enquiries, projects, security, and business administration.

You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. Contact info@gnosisstudios.uk.

This site may use essential technologies needed for the website to work. If non-essential analytics, marketing cookies, or tracking tools are added, visitors should be given clear information and any consent controls required by UK privacy and electronic communications rules.

Limits & Third Parties

Third-party services and practical limits.

Websites may rely on third-party services such as domain registrars, hosting providers, email apps, map providers, payment providers, booking tools, social platforms, or analytics services. Those providers have their own terms, fees, privacy settings, uptime, and support processes.

Gnosis Interactive will take reasonable care when building, testing, and supporting a website, but cannot guarantee search rankings, sales, enquiries, uninterrupted third-party services, permanent availability of external platforms, or outcomes outside the agreed scope.

Nothing on this page excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law. For business clients, liability for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of sales, loss of business, or loss of opportunity is limited as far as UK law allows and subject to the agreed project terms.

These notes are provided for clarity and general service information. They are not legal advice. Clients with specific legal, regulated, consumer, privacy, accessibility, tax, or trading questions should get appropriate professional advice.

UK Law

Governing law and updates.

These service notes are written for UK website services operated from England. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, website service agreements are intended to be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Gnosis Interactive may update this legal information from time to time. The version that applies to a confirmed project will usually be the version in place when the project terms are agreed, unless a later written agreement says otherwise.
